Xiaojie Sun is a PhD student in the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Aerosol Science. Her research integrates aerosol science with crystal engineering to develop inhalable high-dose antibiotic microparticles for the treatment of lower respiratory tract infections in primary care. Prior to her PhD, Xiaojie completed an MSc in Pharmaceutics at China Pharmaceutical University, where she developed a strong foundation in drug formulation and material science. 

Chemical Engineer specializing in Water/Wastewater Treatment and Food Engineering with experience and background in the design, modelling, and optimisation of water/wastewater treatment systems. Adept at utilizing cutting-edge technologies i.e. membranes and AOPs to address the challenges of water scarcity and environmental degradation, with a passion for promoting sustainability and mitigating the impacts of climate change.
